Consigning Tips & Tricks

Purses

Check all pockets! Would you believe the top 5 items we find: MONEY! , business cards, candy, jewelry and napkins? Make sure you keep those goodies! Wipe down inside and any dust from the outside. Additional straps and dust covers are a plus!

Clothing

We ask ALL items must be laundered, pressed and on hangers. Items must be ready and presentable for the sales floor. We do not even have an iron or steamer. Items will sell well if they are neat and presentable. We inspect for rips, staining, discoloration, shrinkage, missing buttons, broken zippers, holes and even odor. WHEW! That’s A LOT! (Also, if you have seen, our intake area, it is on the smaller side. We can always roll bars over to accommodate more clothing).

Shoes

First place we look is at the toe and at the heel for any divots and damage.
Give a your shoes a quick wipe down and polish to spruce them up. Make sure to bend them to scan for any dry rotting (hey, it does happen)! Leather shoes have a tendency to start peeling and shedding on the insides if they dry out.

Jewelry

Polish any sterling silver and stones to make them shine! Inspect pieces for any missing stones or broken clasps. Adding any receipts or appraisal information with fine and designer jewelry will assist in pricing and selling.
